Monza, a Clockwork Orange at the party. Niccolò gets kicked in the face: "Have you had enough shots?"

Monza, a Clockwork Orange at the party. Niccolò gets kicked in the face: "Have you had enough shots?"

Monza – His ears are still purple, his face is swollen, the mark of a kick etched on his cheek, and his voice is shaking. Niccolò, 26, won't easily forget that Halloween party. "It's better not to write my last name, I don't know what would happen if someone there recognized me." A Clockwork Orange story. Niccolò had gone to a party held at a trendy club behind the Faculty of Medicine at the Bicocca University branch at the San Gerardo Hospital, between Monza and Vedano al Lambro .

A crowd of young people, "about 300 kids inside and outside the club." Everyone was dancing, everyone was wearing masks. "I was wearing a mask with deer antlers," he says, "and everything was fine." At 1:30 in the morning, the unimaginable happened, seemingly starting as a prank. "Three kids I didn't know or had ever seen before approached me, and one of them ripped the antlers off my head. I turned around in surprise and tried to get them back." He wished he'd never done that. For no apparent reason, the situation turned into a nightmare.

The pack

“That boy he responded by punching me in the left ear. “What are you doing?” I asked him, astonished . And then all three of them joined together, they grabbed him, punched him, and threw him to the floor. And while Niccolò was on the floor, they continued to beat him, kicking him. No one in the club seemed to notice what was happening; the music and alcohol evidently increased the confusion. Two girls helped him up, but it wasn't over yet. The three attackers had no intention of stopping and pushed the victim against a wall where they continued to punch and kick him. “They were mostly hitting him on the head, they were hitting to hurt.” Until luckily another customer and a bartender intervened and helped Niccolò out of the club and take cover. Instead of running away, the three attackers approached again and began to mock him.

"Have you taken enough?" one asks, accompanying his words with a slap. Then, the three vanish. The victim has no choice but to call for help. They call 911, call an ambulance, and take him to the hospital, where he'll be treated. Luckily, nothing is broken, but he'll be released hours later with a 14-day prognosis for various bruises. The Carabinieri also come out to take his statement.

The complaint

They told him to report the incident to the police station in his home town, in the Milanese hinterland. "I even managed to show some photos of the attackers. I hope the investigation continues; it's not impossible to trace them: white sweatshirt and dark pants, about 1.80 meters tall, Italian. Moreover, they were the only ones not masked at the party: I would like justice to be done and for what happened to me to not be forgotten. I took a huge risk, and it could happen to someone else too."
